CASA Academy

CASA Academy serves as an educational arm of CASA Network. The Academy develops programs, courses, and other educational materials for church and parachurch leaders and other professionals. The Academy provides speakers, conferences, workshops and seminars on location as well as online, making education and training for the generations accessible to churches, nonprofit organizations and individuals throughout the world. The Academy may also develop products such as books, online articles, publications, CDs, DVDs, and other resources. Coaching and consultation for individual churches leaders and congregations is also available upon request.

The Academy seeks to engage in the empirical research of spiritual, physical, mental and social needs of aging populations and those ministries that prove to be effective.

ACADEMY FACULTY

Ben E. Dickerson, PhD., and Derrel R. Watkins, PhD., oversee the development and implementation of curricula. The initial project includes four online courses that comprise the series, Navigating Ministry in Times of Generational Changes.

Drs. Dickerson and Watkins have considerable experience in developing educational enterprises. Examples include the Baylor University’s Summer Institute on Aging for Church Leaders, an Online Program for Rural Ministers in Texas, sponsored by the Christian Life Commission of the Baptist General Convention of Texas; and the Online Leadership Academy for the Texas Silver Haired Legislators. They have served Universities and Seminaries for more than thirty years and have directed undergraduate and graduate programs as well as Life Long Learning programs.

CASA Academy is governed by the CASA Network Board of Directors. All intellectual material is the property of CASA Network, Inc. As CASA Academy continues to grow, additional faculty will ensure ongoing quality, productivity, innovativeness, and servant leadership in Christian ministry to the world’s growing 50+ age population.

Course Credit

Students may enroll for academic credit in CASA Academy partner Universities or Seminaries. In such cases, fees will be arranged directly with the partner educational institution.
